Katsina launches security corps, deploys 770 patrol vans, motorcycles

The Katsina State Government, on Tuesday, deployed 1,466 newly-trained community watch corps officers to seven frontline local government areas of the state to tackle security challenges along with conventional security operatives.

The state also unveiled 70 patrol vehicles and 700 motorcycles to assist in the security challenges facing the state.

Governor Dikko Radda made the announcement in Katsina during the graduation ceremony for the newly-trained 1,466 officers of the community watch corps who were the first batch of corps being trained to augment the efforts of security operatives in the state.

The governor also announced the launch of  60 new buses that would be conveying students to and from their various schools in the state.
